Here is my last month in Sirvintos...

I remember coming here like it was yesterday, April 14, time flies like water. Just like every month, I tried to collect beautiful memories in my last month. First, I went to Siauliai to visit my other volunteer friends. I can say that I had a great weekend. We made a wonderful traditional Turkish meal and it was incredibly delicious. Of course I would try it when I returned. I tried them too.

After completing a nice weekend, we organized a Turkish culture day in Musninkai. While I was making Pide and Menemen with the inspiration that I got from my friend and my other volunteer friend prepared Turkish dumbling. After some videos and presentations, we moved on to the eating part. And of course the result was great.

Since my roommate was leaving the project before me, we organized a farewell dinner at our home. I can say that we left a nice memory with a nice dinner with all our colleagues. Other day, we went to Vilnius together for the last time with my friends and saw the amber museum. There was also a great photo taking event, of course we took advantage of this opportunity. It might be one of the best memories I had in Lithuania. We finished the evening that day by eating delicious tacos in a beautiful Mexican kitchen. The sun was setting very early now. I was witnessing that it was getting dark at 4 in the afternoon. Also, theweather was starting to get colder than it actually was. I witnessed the freezing of the river. Yes, the river froze. When we woke up the next morning, everywhere was completely white. You can guess how cold it was. Meanwhile, my new friend came to my room. Even though we had known each other for a short time, I observed that he was a very friendly, talkative and always positive guy.

Now it was time to buy my plane ticket. I was even running late. The reason for this was that I was lost among the options. I am stating here that I am a very indecisive person. Finally, I bought my ticket and now slowly moved on to the packing part. In my last days, due to a mild illness that came with the rapid change of seasons, the work I had to do was postponed a little and this made me a little tired.I had several sleepless nights with cough and fever. I guess there were some naughty viruses floating around because we had several people get sick at the same time. Luckily we are all okay again.

I went to Vilnius for saying goodbye to my other friends in Vilnius for the last time. I hope these goodbyes are not permanent. Because I don't like saying goodbye and leaving the people I love and care about.  Sometimes I think, is it harder to leave the people you love or to say goodbye to them? Personally, the answer is both. Because it is neither easy for me to say goodbye to the people I love nor for me to leave their lives...

My flight was on November 30, but I left two days before because my plane was taking off from Warsaw, so I gave myself two days to visit Warsaw. My journey to Sirvintos ended here. I've made great friendships, I've accumulated wonderful memories, I'm happy for everything I've done, I don't regret anything, and I even wish I could have done more. I think I did the best I could, I think I made everyone who knows me happy, I made everyone laugh in the process, I know I didn't upset anyone on purpose, everyone makes mistakes. The important thing is to understand these and learn from them by acting maturely. I would also like to thank SAJC and Bolu Youth Center for giving me this opportunity. Hope to meet you in other projects...
