Between October 13-23 2022, youngsters from Širvintos and its surroundings (Musninkai village community and Širvintos Open Youth Center) participated in the youth exchange project of the Erasmus+ program in Italy. 30 young people from Lithuania, Italy, Spain, Poland and Greece participated in the exchange.

The youngsters were accommodated in a beautiful villa in the Italian countryside (Capranica) near Rome. The environment surrounding the villa was very suitable for the implementation of project activities, as it was surrounded by nature.

The groups created environmental educational performances, which they presented in schools and kindergartens. Project participants organized intercultural evenings every evening, during which they got to know each other's cultures, traditions and cuisines better. Arnas, Agnė, Simona, Elija and Vitalija taught foreigners traditional Lithuanian dance and the game "Jurgelis meistrelis" and many other games interesting for young people. The Lithuanian team treated the foreigners to shakotis, black bread, and cheese, which, according to the participants of the exchange, was even tastier than Italian food.

In addition to all the project activities, the young people had a great opportunity to visit the city of Rome itself. The Lithuanian group visited the Vatican, the Coliseum, the Pantheon and the ancient city of Rome, the cozy and romantic courtyards of Rome.
