Mobile Youth Work with Young People in Širvintos District - on an International Scale

The open youth space implements another international youth exchange project of the Erasmus+ program "Healthy habits for a healthier generation", which aims to develop young people's healthy lifestyle skills. Together with Lithuanians, young people from Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey, France and Spain are participating in the project.

Project participants came to Širvintos in March, and when they met, they discussed healthy lifestyles and taught each other traditional sports games of their countries.

The young people of Širvintos presented our district, the country's culture and traditional cuisine to the participants of the project from abroad. Participation in the project provided a fun and interesting experience for both the young people and the project organizers. In addition, all Erasmus+ program youth exchange participants were awarded Youthpass, certifying their experience in the youth field of the Erasmus+ program.

The mayor of the municipality Živilė Pinskuvienė thanked Živilė Jankauskaitei-Turkmen and Jelena Masiuka, the project coordinators of Širvintų Sports Center's open youth space, mobile work with youth employment specialists, for the initiatives and new opportunities for the district's youth.
