Youngsters from Musninkai and Širvintos Participated in Eco-Gardening Training in Turkey

Between June 4-10, youngsters from Musninkai and Širvintos, representing the village community of Musninkai and the Širvintos Open Youth Center. participated in training in Turkey and gained valuable knowledge in the field of eco-gardening.


These trainings are part of the joint project "Eco-educational garden for youth entrepreneurship skills development" with the Turkish organizations Izmir Ekolojik Denge Dernegi and Uluslararasi Genclik Aktiliveleri Merkezi Dernegi, which aims to help young people acquire useful theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of eco-horticulture and contribute to their entrepreneurial skills education.


The training in Izmir was aimed at promoting organic agriculture. They aimed to inspire young people from Turkey and Lithuania to join the cultivation of organic agriculture and the knowledge of using sustainable practices in horticulture.


Young people from Musninkai and Širvintos came to Izmir with great interest and desire to gain new knowledge. They participated in various practical workshops, lectures and educations. Through these activities, they learned about various organic farming systems, soil care, use of natural fertilizers, pest control without chemicals, etc. In addition, they met local organic farmers, heard their stories and experiences, and learned about the challenges they face.


These young people not only learned, but also shared their experiences with other participants from Turkey. They presented the practices of Lithuanian organic horticulture, distinguishing local species, sustainable agriculture initiatives that promote the environment.
