The community "Mūsų Širvintos" prepared the project "Volunteering'22", which is intended to foster volunteering ideas and volunteer activities in the city of Širvintos and the district.
Conducted studies prove that people who participate or have participated in voluntary activities rate their civic power better than those who do not participate.
This year has been declared the "Year of Voluntary Activities" in Lithuania, therefore promoting volunteering and motivating people to participate in voluntary activities is particularly important for our community.
The aim of the project was to increase initiative and involvement of community members in voluntary activities.
Project activities were organized at Gelvonai Gymnasium for youth aged 14 to 18. The activities involved more young people who wanted to learn more about volunteering and the opportunities it offers for personal and professional development.
Volunteers of the European Solidarity Corps from Turkey, Sakartvel, Ukraine and Germany were involved in the project activities, who shared their volunteering experiences in Lithuania with young people.
The youth participated in creative workshops, activities and a volunteering game where they had to complete tasks related to volunteering.
